Guardians Of The Galaxy (2014 film) - 10th anniversary retrospective and mini-review

  WARNING: Spoilers for this movie abound! If you have not watched the movie or plan not to, don't read this post. You have been warned! Just a decade ago, Marvel Studios, riding high off of the success of the first-ever superhero team-up movie of its kind, The Avengers, set off to bring more of its comic book properties to the big screen and in live-action. One of them was Guardians of The Galaxy. The 10th film in the MCU and 4th installment in Phase 2 of The Infinity Saga, Guardians of The Galaxy was co-written and directed by James Gunn, and stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Glenn Close, Lee Pace, and John C. Reilly, to name a few. It was released in theaters in August 2014.  At first, the movie was a major pre-release gamble. A group of C-list characters even by comic book standards? My complete Transformers/G.I. Joe crossover movie wishlist

As some of you already know by now, a theatrical crossover film with Transformers and G.I. Joe is in development. I'm pretty psyched for it, actually. It has the potential to be more than just an enjoyable popcorn flick! Here's my wishlist for the forthcoming film. NOTE: Some spoilers for Transformers: ROTB abound. Quickie review: Inside Out 2 (2024)

  Inside Out 2 is one of the most delightful movies of 2024, and it's hard to not see why. It's a movie that's bright, colorful, loaded with instantly lovable characters, a story that anyone who ever lived through the final five years of childhood - the teenage years (yes, 13-17 years old is considered part of childhood because no one is an adult yet until they turn 18) - can relate to, deep themes and light humor blended skillfully, and it's a feel-good movie overall - the kind of movie that we desperately need right now in today's demanding times. Out of the four new emotions introduced in the movie, I loved Anxiety the most. I adored her Muppet-like design, and Maya Hawke delivers a really good performance.      And oh my, the animation, hands-down, is awesome. It not only combines the full CGI animation that Pixar is known for, but it also combines other mediums, such as 2D animation and even stop-motion. Transformers: Rise of The Beasts review (with analysis) (SPOILERS!)

  WARNING: This is a very, very, VERY long post! Also, if you have not seen the movie yet (or don't plan to at all), then don't read this, as there will be spoilers abound! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.   What is there to say about the Transformers franchise? Ever since it started in 1984, 40 years ago, the robots in disguise have stolen the Sparks (read: hearts) of nearly thousands of humans the world over. The idea of sentient transforming robots turning into a wide variety of objects - from transport vehicles to animals - has captivated the imaginations of almost everyone - young and old - and what started out as a line of action figures has grown into a multimedia franchise consisting of cartoons, movies, video games, and comic books.  And the franchise is no longer only enjoyed by many kids and kids at heart - it is now enjoyed by people of all ages and demographics. And, with the animated film Transformers One due this September, I'd figure I would do a review of last year...
